In Britain you generally find DK weight cotton yarn. but realising that there were people in the world who prefer to use worsted weight cotton, I decided to see if I could create a similar coaster to my original Celtic Coaster in this thicker yarn. This pattern is the result.

The coasters are made by interleaving four rectangular crochet strips. You only need a small amount of of yarn. Ideally made with four or at least two colours as you will see from the photographs.

There are written instructions plus diagrams showing how to weave the strips together.

USES: Only basic stitches.

YARN: Designed for worsted weight cotton yarn.

SIZE: About 4 inches (10cm) square.

There is a choice of two two PDF files (0.5M each): one in UK and one in US crochet terms.

The headline photograph is made in Lily’s Sugar ‘n’ Cream Solids yarn but any 100% cotton worsted / Aran weight yarn would be suitable.

I include tutorials within my patterns for things that may be unfamiliar but I am also always willing to give help if needed.
