Rose Window Coaster

This pattern was inspired by the appearance of stained glass rose windows.

It is a pattern for a thick coaster that can be made in DK (light worsted ) cotton yarn that comes out about 4ins (20cm) and also a similar sized coaster in worsted (Aran) cotton yarn as shown in the photograph.

It only uses a small amount of yarn so could make a good stash buster. Black or white yarn is recommended for the overlay stitches but any colours could be used for the other parts.

It includes at different times working into front loops or back loops or back and third loops and one place needs back post stitches. You will also have two yarns attached simultaneously for part of the time. Therefore it is recommend for more experienced crocheters.

There are photographs showing how each round looks when complete and instructions on Magic Loop/ Magic Ring, the invisible join and finding the third loop.

USES: Basic stitches plus working into front loops or back loops or back and third loops and one place back post stitches.

YARN: Designed for DK (light worsted) but also has instructions for using Worsted (Aran) yarn. Both versions use approximately 24m (26yds) of yarn.

SIZE: Approximately 4ins (10cm) from side to side.

There is a choice of two two PDF files: one in UK and one in US crochet terms.

I include tutorials within my patterns for things that may be unfamiliar but I am also always willing to give help if needed.
